March 25th Meet at DMC Headquarters in Irvine, CA. (Sorry about the text layout. I gotta read the instruction book!)
I started my day at 5:30AM. Got up and snagged a spot at, what I call, the "Zillionaire" Car Show at Crystal Cove. I was warned that perhaps we LX people should just park and walk in. No way. I had people around the car all morning and Ralph Gilles and his posse spent some time with me taking photos and we're appreciative that DMC was represented. They liked my "retro look" modifications. (See bottom of this page)
Following are just a few shots I took this morning. I guarantee you that there was $50,000,000.00 worth of cars in this little show and the parking lot. If there was not 40 Ferraris there was none!
And a nice crowd too! Mind you. This is about 7:30 AM today.
Yep! That's the same car!
Went to breakfast and then on to the BIG MEET in Irvine.
It was an amazing sight and very humbling as well. There were some unbelievable private cars.
This monster had hydraulics that went up and down in a split second.
Those 26s may have been a little much for bouncing this thing up and down as you can see by the crinkle. Is there a tire on that rim?
Can you say Guichi?
Lambos and suicide rear doors. Too hip!
Hey butweet! This is the best you could do? (Wow! What a nice ride!)
Another nice Maggie.
And lots and lots of nice Maggies. This was one of two Magnum parking areas.
A big thanks to all the volunteers. You guys were great! (See girls. I told you you would be on the web tonight!)
LX Limo.
Inside shot.
I'll just let the following photos speak for themselves.
OK. That's as long as I can keep quiet. Now, don't get me wrong. These DUB cars were something else but I kept looking at them and saying to myself. "Did a bomb go off inside that car?"
What do you think? Too L.A.?
We were served a great BBQ lunch too.
Remember when you saw your first Charger SRT8? Now it's like. "Oh. Just another Charger SRT8." It was an awesome display!
A seminar broke out at the GS Motorsports Magnum display.
Pete Santini brought one of his creations in too.
Daytona row.
OK. Since I went to all the trouble to post these pics. I get to end the page with my latest "reincarnation" of the Magnum SRT8 that I was never going to modify. Sure!
Here's the new hood. Long story. RK Sports related but I love the final outcome no matter how expensive and painful it was.
Went for the "retro" look on this mod. Pin stripes. Not airbrush. (Eyebrows a-la-grinner)
Got everything but the woodpecker with the cigar on the rear windows! Old school.
Love the hood. Used my first wheel mod (painting the SRT red) as the tie in for the whole pinstripe theme. This is the only badge that I left on the car.
Smoked the rear lenses. Skinned the car completely. (Santini is shaving the rear wiper and door handle next round of mods)
Street Racing Technology!
Here's the new 6.1 CAI.
And maybe my favorite mod this round. Had my pinstriper fill in the SRT8 engraving on the Ultimate Pedals by hand for the show. Hope you all enjoyed the photos. KK
