About 40 members of various forums met this afternoon at Hooters in Anaheim, CA and cruised, in-mass,- to a well established car show on Main Street in Garden Grove. It was like homecoming for me as I graduated from Garden Grove High School in 1966. I actually went to school there with Steve Martin. A wild and crazy guy! For you youngsters, that's the Steve Martin that made many movies over the last few decades. Anyway, here are some photos from today's festivities. I hope you enjoy them!
We met at Hooters in Anaheim. Even though I parked my new Magnum SRT8 in an inconspicuous spot, several of the "established" members ended up and my table at Hooters and tried to stick me with their tabs! Luckily I was able to out-maneuver them with a trip to the head when the check came and there were no hostilities! (LOL!)
We had a real nice turn-out. Lot's of nice Magnums and 300's.
We had a couple of 300Cs with the new GS Sport blower. Pretty impressive cars and I'm not just talking about the HP!
These things fit in there like gloves!
It was a family thang too. A lot of the wives and kids attended. It was pretty neat!
There was this one tall, handsome, older fella there with a brand new Magnum SRT8 too! He was really low-key though!Shy type!
So we started to cruise/convoy to the Garden Grove Car Show but had to stop in Pep Boys parking lot to re-group. Someone made a comment about the SXT's not being able to keep up with the Hemi's and I thought that was just "out-of-line"! So we drove slower the rest of the way! (LOL!)
Then we re-grouped again in a church parking lot, just short of the Main Street Car Show for our final assault.
They collected our $2.00 fee to show our cars and we ended up cruising about half-way down the Main drag with all of these beautiful LXs and then backed them into our VIP, reserved, area for public viewing. And the public came and I heard a lot of comments about the quality of the vehicles we had there. Seemed like everybody loved the Magnums and 300s!
Here are some personal plates and rides that were in attendance.
RTEE with some nice pinstriping too!
Another beautiful 300C SRT8 with a blower! (And no, I wasn't taking a pee on this car when the middle picture above was taken!)
It was a SRT8 bonanza on the 300C side!
And then there was that real modest, low profile guy's SRT8 Magnum too.
And there was this beautiful, custom 300 from Italy, I think!
Doesn't look like a Ferrari but I really liked it!
I guess this guy raced one of the super-charged SRT8's. Looks like he got his doors blown off! Actually there were several, super custom 300s like this there and they were beautiful!
And custom Magnums done by the same company. Or is that a 300 that was mated with a Magnum. Either way. I likey!
More super custom work on a Magnum..
Oh yeah! There were a bunch of old cars there too! Actually, what a great setting for a show-n-shine!
Looking the other way! Lot's of beautiful hot rods, customs & classics were in attendance.
Do these guys look guilty or what? They were trying to sit in qzking's new SRT8 without permission!
Other than that, I think a great time was had by all. I really enjoyed meeting more of the forum members today and look forward to doing this again soon!
